Read joins Subaru
NEW ZEALAND codriver Malcolm Read is crossing the Tasman to join Subaru Motorsport for the 2018 Australian Rally Championship.
Read (29), the first Kiwi since the late Possum Bourne to have a fulltime drive with Subaru Australia, will join 2016 champion Molly Taylor and compete in a Subaru WRX STi, prepared by Les Walkden Rallying over the sixround series.
Read, who began rallying in 2004, has competed in more than 100 events globally.
‘‘Having grown up watching Possum in the Australian Rally Championship, it was something I’ve always wanted to do but to be teamed up with Molly and Subaru Australia just makes it extra special,’’ he said.
