Marine protection advice delay
MARINE protection recommendations for New Zealand’s southeast coast have encountered further delays.
The SouthEast Marine Protection Forum expected to release its advice to the Government this month on what sites, from Timaru to Waipapa Point, in Southland, deserved marine protection and what type of protection they needed.
Forum chairwoman Maree BakerGalloway said the document was finished, but was now being inspected by the Government and she did not know the reason for the delay. Its release was expected within the next two weeks.
