Pink cancels third show but Dunedin event still on
POP star Pink has been forced to postpone shows in Australia because of illness, but the Dunedin show in September is still on schedule, organisers say.
The American singer was admitted to hospital on Monday, just hours before she was scheduled to appear on stage, forcing her to postpone another Sydney show.
Her Beautiful Trauma world tour was due to hit Sydney on Friday but she cancelled that first show on doctor’s orders.
The singer battled through a Saturday night show but on medical advice postponed Monday’s concert at Qudos Bank Arena, as well as the concert planned for last night.
Pink is scheduled to perform in New Zealand at Forsyth Barr stadium, in Dunedin, on September 1, followed by four Auckland shows on September 4, 5, 7 and 8.
Dunedin Venues marketing manager Kim Barnes said yesterday the New Zealand shows were still scheduled.
Promoter Live Nation said on Twitter that Pink was admitted to hospital in Sydney on
Sunday night suffering from dehydration and was treated and discharged.
However, she was readmitted on Monday and diagnosed with a gastric virus.
The shows are expected to be rescheduled.
All other performances on the Australian leg of the tour will go ahead as scheduled, Ticketek said in a tweet yesterday.
