Pink promises next show on Saturday

-

SYDNEY: Pink has postponed a fourth Sydney show but the pop superstar is promising to be back on stage on Saturday following a stomach virus.

The US singer was admitted to hospital on Monday night ‘‘in excruciating pain’’, a day after being treated for dehydration.

She was discharged 24 hours later but is still recovering.

‘‘Our next show will be Saturday, and until then I will be drinking green tea, and spending time with my kids,’’ she posted on Instagram yesterday.

Today’s performance at Qudos Bank Arena will not go ahead.

It follows the cancellation of her first Sydney show on Friday night, and two others on Monday and Tuesday.

‘‘My sincere apologies to any of the ticketholders that this has affected,’’ she said.

‘‘Thank you for your patience, compassion, and support. I look forward to rocking out with all of you as we have done for many many years.’’

The 38yearold said the cancellations were out of anyone’s control, noting that her shows are very physical.

‘‘I flip, dance, fly, harness, silk, and scream my way through a total s... show of awesomeness (no pun intended). Therefore, need to physically healthy and well in order to perform this show. I think all of you deserve the full show and me at my best.’’

She will return to Sydney after finishing the New Zealand leg of her tour and promoter Live Nation has announced new dates for her cancelled shows.

Last Friday’s concert has been rescheduled for August 24, while the others have been moved to September 1719.

Pink yesterday thanked her supporters as well as staff at St Vincent’s Hospital for their care, while poking fun at paparazzi trying to catch a shot of her.

‘‘You might actually see me walking upright outside of my hotel room cage with two little children, and another warning: I might even smile. Not too much, though. I’ll try to control the smiling,’’ she said. — AAP
