Should taxi drivers join proper tour companies?

-

REGARDING the abused taxi operator (ODT, 27.8.18).

This operator appears to have all requirements to work from a taxi stand.

Anthony ‘‘Starskey’’ Ware has the nerve to say she should work under a company banner. But maybe he should brush up on what the rules are.

I do not know Tracey, but she has as much right to use a stand as his drivers do.

Mr Ware then uses the term ‘‘legitimate drivers’’. Tracey is a legitimate driver, if the article is correct.

As a tour driver of more than 40 years, who trained with a top company of the day, I would like to know what the response of Mr Ware is to this idea — that, using his logic of ‘‘legitimate drivers’’, taxi drivers should not do tours for passengers off cruise ships until they join ‘‘legitimate’’ tour companies.

Thank you for caring

MY diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer, involving dedicated, skilful experts at Pacific Radiology, Dunedin Hospital and its nuclear medicine department, and Mercy Hospital, resulted in relatively swift treatment.

During the whole process I had ready, reassuring, informative and honest communications with my surgeon and carenurse.

The level of care I received from surgeons, carenurses and all other medics involved makes me feel extremely blessed with my resulting positive prognosis for the future and a return to normal living.

Thank you, wonderful people.
