Road opens after crash

Wellington: About 400 trucks that queued bumpertobumper north of Welington following a crash earlier yesterday had begun to move last night.

The first trucks were let through on State Highway 1 between Plimmerton and Paekakariki after a 17hour closure.

The road had been closed all day after a truck carrying hazardous goods rolled shortly before 4am, causing chaos for truckies and those travelling out of the capital for a holiday weekend break. —
