Man shot at pig trap
Rotorua: One person was arrested after a 28yearold man was shot in the leg in Eastern Bay of Plenty on Thursday.
Senior Sergeant Richard Miller said the incident happened in a rural area east of Opotiki about 5pm.
The man was in a group of three or four people building a pig trap when another man approached and allegedly fired on the group.
A 56yearold local man was later arrested at a property with the assistance of the armed offenders squad. He was due to appear in Whakatane District Courtcharged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and unlawful possession of a firearm. — NZME
