Two sus­tain se­ri­ous in­juries in Hyde crash

TWO peo­ple suf­fered se­ri­ous in­juries af­ter a car crashed into a bank near Hyde in Cen­tral Otago yes­ter­day morn­ing.

A po­lice spokes­woman said the car left State High­way 87 about 9.30am.

St John spokes­woman Chrissy Hamil­ton said both oc­cu­pants sus­tained se­ri­ous in­juries and were flown to Dunedin Hospi­tal by res­cue he­li­copter.

One per­son was taken to Oa­maru Hospi­tal by po­lice last night fol­low­ing a two­car col­li­sion.

A po­lice spokes­woman said the cars col­lided at the in­ter­sec­tion of Eden and Reed Sts, in Oa­maru about 8pm, leav­ing one of the oc­cu­pants with a sus­pected bro­ken wrist.
