Two sustain serious injuries in Hyde crash

TWO people suffered serious injuries after a car crashed into a bank near Hyde in Central Otago yesterday morning.

A police spokeswoma­n said the car left State Highway 87 about 9.30am.

St John spokeswoma­n Chrissy Hamilton said both occupants sustained serious injuries and were flown to Dunedin Hospital by rescue helicopter.

One person was taken to Oamaru Hospital by police last night following a twocar collision.

A police spokeswoma­n said the cars collided at the intersecti­on of Eden and Reed Sts, in Oamaru about 8pm, leaving one of the occupants with a suspected broken wrist.
