Charity boxer dies
Christchurch: The man seriously injured in a charity boxing match in Christchurch at the weekend has died.
Kain Parsons, a former builder turned project manager, was knocked unconscious during Saturday’s fight.
Mr Parsons (37) suffered a serious brain injury and failed to recover in Christchurch Hospital, police said.
He is survived by his wife and three children.
The bout was approved by the New Zealand Professional Boxing Association, which approves or promotes about 50 corporate bouts each year.
