7 killed in dormitory fire

Seoul: A fire at a lowcost dormitorystyle housing facility in central Seoul has killed at least seven people and injured 11 others.

Fire officials said the blaze had been extinguished but the death toll could rise. The cause of the fire was under investigation, they said.

South Korean media reported most of the victims were manual labourers in their 40 to 60s. It was not known whether any young students or travellers had been staying at the facility. — AAP
