‘ODT’ award winner named
OTAGO Daily Times reporter Chris Morris has been named the newspaper’s 2018 Valpy Rosebowl Trophy winner for his investigative reporting in the ODT Insight Marked by the Cross series.
Mr Morris (38), who grew up in Dunedin, also won the award in 2012 and 2013.
The award, for editorial excellence, is presented annually on the anniversary of the November 15, 1861, publication of the first issue of the ODT, New Zealand’s oldest daily newspaper.
The award is named for Judge W.H. Valpy, one of the founders in 1851 of the weekly Otago Witness, which later amalgamated with the ODT.
