Dowie’s office open

INVERCARGILL MP Sarah Dowie’s electorate office was open for business yesterday morning as a police investigation is under way into a text allegedly sent from her phone.

Former National MP JamiLee Ross named Ms Dowie as somebody with whom he had had a twoyear affair.

It is understood the police are looking at whether the text to Mr Ross, which included the words ‘‘you deserve to die’’ breached the Harmful Digital Communications Act rules around inciting suicide.

Both Ms Dowie and Mr Ross are expected to return to Parliament on February 12. — RNZ
