Jardine Park tree cleanup

-

Queenstown: Queenstown Lakes District Council contractors yesterday began a clean up of Jardine Park, removing trees which pose a risk to the public.

The Kelvin Heights park was closed by the council last Thursday after high winds on Wednesday afternoon caused trees across the district to topple and several at the park were damaged.

Heavy machinery was brought in yesterday morning to remove and scale back any hazardous trees there — work was expected to be completed by Friday and until then all public tracks in the area would be closed to the public.
