Tree stumps catch fire

Glendhu Bay: Two tree stumps caught on fire on Mount Aspiring Rd near Glendhu Bay on Sunday about 7.30pm.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokeswoman said a crew from Wanaka and a water tanker from Luggate attended the scene and extinguished the blaze within an hour. The cause was unknown, the spokeswoman said.
