‘Passive’ hall for Luggate
Luggate: The Queenstown Lakes District Council has confirmed the new
$1.89 million hall being planned for Luggate will be designed to meet ‘‘passive house’’ standards.
The process of appointing a design team has begun, and property director Richard Pope says the council is keen to see proposals from designers who have knowledge and experience of passive housing.
Passive house standards are designed to produce lowenergy, healthy buildings.
The Luggate Memorial Hall was closed in 2017 after being deemed an earthquake risk and its replacement is due for completion by early 2021.
