We should be protecting all forms of life
WE have all been moved and impressed by our New Zealand community’s response to the tragedy in Christchurch on March 15, a day that will go down in the history of our country as a day of infamy.
Reaching out to our Muslim brothers and sisters with heartfelt sympathy and practical care and help has been impressive and memorable.
So, too, has been the Government’s speedy initiative in bringing in gun restriction law to prevent further intentional killing and to help make our communities much safer places.
Is it not ironic, then, that the only person in Parliament who did not vote for the recent gun control legislation is the same person sponsoring a bill promoting euthanasia and assisted suicide?
Intentional killing, whether by gun or curette, pill or injection, has got to stop.
