Community work for driver

Christchur­ch: A driver who struck and killed a man out walking his dog in Christchur­ch last year, and did not stop, has been sentenced to community work and lost her licence.

Timaima Tuilawa (56) appeared in the Christchur­ch District Court yesterday for sentencing and was ordered to pay $500 in reparation, complete 170 hours of community work and disqualifi­ed from driving for a year.

Tuilawa struck Steffan Pearce Loe (30) last July, when he was walking his dogs in Gayhurst Rd, near the River Avon, about 2.30am. — RNZ
