Mitchells Tavern, in the heart of Caversham
MITCHELLS Tavern of Caversham, 9012, came of age on August 10, 2019.
From a quiet start with dining hours of 11.30am2pm and 59pm Wednesday to Sunday, the restaurant is now open for all day dining, seven days a week.
Weekday dining at Mitchells Tavern is from 11.30am9pm, while on Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays they have brunch on from 10am2pm, and carry on through till 9pm.
Without the many loyal customers, reliable suppliers, and hardworking staff, the growth and success of Mitchells would not have been possible. Thanks, and please stick with them as they continue forwards.
From dining alone, to catering for groups of 50 and more, whether offthemenu or a personalised menu, Mitchells will do their best to make your dining experience a very memorable occasion.
And now is the time to think about your end of year get together or celebration, as Mitchells have set menus or can discuss options to suit.
Their function room is a popular choice for all celebrations, and it is also regularly used for meetings.
Being in the heart of Caversham, among a diverse range of businesses and an active community group, has also helped the success of Mitchells Tavern.
The Caversham Community Group (CCG) continues doing great work in the neighbourhood.
The latest major initiative is the Caversham Reserve upgrade, which was worked on with the Dunedin City Council.
Phase one of the upgrade of Caversham Reserve is now complete. This has added a gas barbecue (with free gas), pergola, drink fountain, picnic tables, and a rubbish bin to the reserve.
An earlier project with Good Food Dunedin led to the planting of heritage fruit trees in Caversham Reserve.
Further additions are planned for the reserve over the next few years. This will include installing children’s play equipment, more planting and paths, and an upgrade of the entrance and fences.
A bench seat also has been donated and installed under cover by the Caversham Community Group at the bus stop outside Mitchells Tavern. Perhaps a shelter will be next?
