We are giving away far too much NZ land

-

SINCE Eugenie Sage has headed up the OIO, the share price for the Bic pen company must surely have gone through the roof.

Never, in our history, have we seen such energetic intent to sign off every application for foreign property purchase.

What will bring an end to the seemingly uncontrolled selloff of large parts of New Zealand?

No more land to sell, perhaps, or maybe we just eliminate the Green Party from any future coalition.

Let’s remember there is still opportunity for Eugenie to sign on the dotted line and allow diatomite mining in our region.

Roll on, 2020 elections.

Trump

EITHER Annette Wale is pulling our legs or she should get out more (Letters, 26.10.19).

Trump is drawing criticism because he converts his own deficiencies to rabid political mismanagement.

Envious of his beloved precursor, he is determined to undo whatever good Obama achieved against severe odds.

A poor judge of character, Trump selects deficient underlings who have neither the wit nor courage to say no to this wannabe dictator.

Republicans are in politics for the power, so they will remain quiet until Trump is dragged down by his own misdemeanours.

So, Ms Wale, let the scales fall from your eyes and let you see Trump for who he is.

Council spending

A $20 MILLION bridge to nowhere and an outdoor swimming pool for Dunedin’s subAntarctic climate. Surely, you jest.

Just another example of the DCC wasting money at an exponential rate, which inevitably results in a corresponding increase in rates.
