Some bus routes return

-

Auckland: InterCity is restarting bus services in time for the long weekend, but some regions, including parts of the South, miss out for now.

The company would resume operations tomorrow but was only running about a third of services across 70% of its network compared with preCovid19 levels.

InterCity chief executive John Thorburn said physical distancing rules meant services would likely run at a loss; as a result, not all stops on the network would be available.

There are no services north of Kerikeri, to Coromandel, National Park or Ohakune in the North Island; in the South Island there are none on the entire West Coast, or to Mt Cook, Wanaka, Te Anau, Tekapo or Omarama. — RNZ
