TAB confirms job losses

Racing: The TAB yesterday confirmed 230 job losses, including 150 permanent staff.

The Racing Industry Transition Agency said the reduction was 30% of its workforce. It is expected to save

$11 million a year in addition to other costsaving plans.

These include the cancellati­on of Trackside Radio programmin­g, fewer inperson betting facilities at races, trims to its television output and the closure of four retail stores. — RNZ
