Xerri in doping shock

Rugby league: The NRL has been rocked by a major scandal after Cronulla star Bronson Xerri was stood down after testing positive for banned substances.

With the league league prepared to resume tomorrow, Xerri (19) was provisionally suspended by the NRL yesterday.

The maximum penalty for the breach includes multiple years on the sideline. Xerri will be suspended from all sport indefinitely. — AAP
