IPL to be played in UAE

-

Cricket: This year’s Indian Premier League will take place in the United Arab Emirates from September 19 to November 10, subject to government clearances.

The twenty20 league was originally scheduled to begin in late March but had to be put off because of the Covid19 pandemic.

The postponement of this year’s ICC T20 World Cup in Australia, however, threw a lifeline to the T20 league. There was no realistic chance of hosting it in India, the country the thirdworst affected in the world by Covid19 with nearly 1.7 million confirmed cases and 36,500 deaths. — Reuters
