Muriwai Open to Hydes

Golf: Aucklander James Hydes won the Muriwai Open over the weekend.

The 21yearold amateur started the final day three strokes behind Ryan Chisnall but four consecutive birdies on the back nine put him in with a chance of winning the Charles Tour event.

Chisnall bogeyed the last hole and it went to a playoff which Hydes won on the first hole with a par.
