To the point
JOHN Grant’s letter covers the Aurora debacle very well (ODT,
26.8.20). On top of his suggestions is the nagging feeling that someone else is going to be killed or severely injured as a result of the dysfunctional ineptitude which seems to be the Aurora norm. There was a serious incident recently at Miller’s Flat which could easily have taken a life.

LIKE a needle stuck in a groove, Jock Allison (Letters, 28.8.20) repeats the climate denial mantra, ‘‘increasing CO2 is a huge positive: more food grown, better for the environment, better for human health’’. Nasa does show Earth greening, but is it food? And what else does Nasa say? Drying of soils, desertification, seriously worse weather and sealevel rise. Cherrypicking the data, Dr Allison? Tut tut, very naughty.

NATIONAL reveals its true colours through Ms Collins’ attackdog husband calling Jacinda Ardern names. How mature, how clever. This is schoolyard bullying. Ms Collins’ failure to condemn this tactic means she supports it. Shame on you, National. You are nowhere near ready to govern at this precarious time.

DOES it follow that if Ms Collins becomes the prime minister she will close Bellamy’s and install vending machines?
