Main policy ‘to win election’
CHRISTCHURCH: National leader Judith Collins remained upbeat as she entered the final week of campaigning yesterday.
Trailing in the polls and with the clock ticking, Ms Collins was asked in Christchurch if she had more policy to announce.
‘‘Our main policy this week is to win the election,’’ she said.
Nor is she planning any party rallies.
If she has a new strategy for the final leaders’ debate on Thursday, she did not reveal anything, saying simply her team would ‘‘think about it’’.
Ms Collins was not worried about questions over her party’s credibility.
She dismissed an error in the party’s wealth tax calculations on Sunday as ‘‘just a digital error . . . Digital people put the wrong thing in’’.
Asked what aces she still had left up her sleeve to sway voters to National, Ms Collins said: ‘‘Outwork, outcompete and basically be far more fabulous than anything on the other side.’’ —
