Doggone it — how to enforce park weight limit?
THE Dunedin City Council’s enthusiastic incompetence and its determination to micromanage its citizens’ affairs apparently know no bounds.
Your article indicates that dogs of over 8kg are to be banned from the small dog area of the dog park in Normanby (ODT, 8.10.20).
Will the DCC kindly inform us how it intends to enforce this ruling?
Does it intend to fit a dog weighbridge? Will there be a weighbridge operator on the already bloated council payroll?
If so, it is obvious that DCC employment policies will require a dog weighbridge team leader and probably a stress counsellor as well, to support the operator when a dog, or its owner, takes exception to the stupidity of the scheme.
Or is this merely another example of an unenforceable regulation, alongside the socalled politeness zone for escooters and the blue and red circles polluting our main thoroughfare?
