Bringing down building begins

Demolition of the former Warehouse Stationery building in Cumberland St, Dunedin, to make way for a new hospital began this week.

Pile testing will also begin soon, as structural engineers begin to look at how best to prepare the sites for the new facility.

The testing will determine the best way forward for building on the site and will begin on October 20 and finish on November 21.

Demolition will continue alongside pile testing, moving on to the former Wilson’s parking building.
