Surveying dean wins medal

UNIVERSITY of Otago Surveying School dean Christina Hulbe has received an international award, partly for her efforts to improve science communication and increase public access to scientific studies.

She won the International Glaciological Society's 2020 Richardson Medal.

She received the shared award for services to glaciology and her work to change the society’s publications, the Journal of Glaciology and Annals of Glaciology, from ‘‘inhouse’’ to openaccess publishing.
