GP nurses, staff to strike
Wellington: About 3200 nurses and medical administrative staff at GP clinics and medical centres are expected to strike next month.
The New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO) yesterday issued a strike notice covering more than 500 practices nationwide, a 24hour strike was set for Monday, November 9, and another two weeks later on November 23.
This follows two national stopwork meetings, and a oneday strike last month.
The union has previously said nurses working in primary care were paid about 10% less than those in hospitals. — RNZ
