Southern football gets an airing

-

WHAT might have been will be wheeled out at Logan Park this afternoon.

A Southern Premier League selection will run out to take on the Canterbury Dragons side in a warmup for the Canterbury side for the national league.

The southern side features many players who performed well in the Southern premier league.

Champion Green Island provides the likes of Tom Milton, Blake Porteous and Matt Brazier, while there are also other top players such as Tim and Ben

O’Farrell and Adam Hewson.

Football South made the decision a couple of months ago to not field Southern United in the national league because of cost pressures.

Players from the southern region along with players from Nelson are able to be part of the Canterbury Dragons side, although nothing has been confirmed.

The national league kicks off in the middle of next month.

The match today will kick off at 4pm.
