Covid19 has enlarged the wealth gap

TWO articles in recent editions of the Otago Daily Times caught my interest.

The first (ODT, 8.10.20) was a short article reporting on the boom time for the world’s billionaires during the early Covid19 period — April to July — when their wealth grew by $US10.2 trillion.

The next day (ODT, 9.10.20) there was a larger article reporting the number of people in extreme poverty — less than $US1.90 a day — during the same period.

Go figure!
