13 missing after typhoon

-

Manila: A typhoon lashed the southern part of the Philippines’ main Luzon island overnight Sunday, dumping heavy rains, toppling power lines and leaving at least 13 missing, disaster officials said.

Typhoon Molave, packing 125kmh wind speeds and gusts of up to 150kmh, forced tens of thousands of people to evacuate.

There was no immediate report of casualties, but 12 fishermen and a sailor were still missing last night. — Reuters
