Third title of 2020 for Venus

Tennis: New Zealander Michael Venus and Australian playing partner John Peers have captured their third ATP doubles title of the year.

The second seeds beat Indian Rohan Bopanna and Dutchman Matwe Middelkoop 63, 64 yesterday to win the Antwerp Open.

It’s Venus’ 13th ATP doubles title and his third with Peers this year following their wins at the ATP 500 tournament­s in Dubai and Hamburg. — RNZ

Ko finished in a share of eighth place at this week’s tournament in Georgia after closing with a 3under 69 yesterday. She’s finished 10under for the tournament, six shots behind winner American Ally McDonald.

New Zealander Danny Lee fired a 3under 72 in the Zozo Championsh­ip in California yesterday for a 1under total of 287, 22 shots behind winner American Patrick Cantlay. — RNZ held this year after Kentucky, Badminton, Luhmuhlen, Burghley and Adelaide were cancelled due to the Covid pandemic.

Price went clear in the showjumpin­g with 0.8 time penalties on 17yearold campaigner Wesko. Price was also 13th on Xavier Faer and 14th on Ringwood Sky Boy while his wife, Jonelle Price, was 12th aboard Grovine de Reve. — RNZ
