Walker voted on to resort’s chamber of commerce board

- TRACEY ROXBURGH

Former National MP for CluthaSouthland Hamish Walker has been voted on to the Queenstown Chamber of Commerce board.

Chamber members this year voted for the new board online — results were announced at the chamber’s annual meeting at the Sofitel last night.

Mr Walker (35) last week announced that he had returned to his ‘‘roots’’ and joined Harcourts Queenstown as a sales consultant.

The oneterm MP was forced to resign in July after admitting leaking Covid19 patient details to media organisations to defend allegations he was racist.

There were five vacancies on the board this year — other successful nominees were Karen Iremonger, Anthony King, Angela Spackman and executive chairman Craig Douglas, who had to seek reelection because his employment changed during his term.
