Confidence high Mitre 10 will hit deadline

- REPORT & PHOTO: MARK PRICE

Covid19 has put the pressure on builders and staff at the new

$25 million Mitre 10 Mega store in Wanaka to meet a tight completion deadline.

However, manager Mark Watson (left) is confident the store will be ready to open at

8am on November 21.

The 9000sq m store is coowned by Allan Dippie (right) and his brother Martin.

It will have the same range as the Dunedin Mitre 10 Mega store.

Solar panels on the building were already proving their worth, and Mr Dippie expected the building would, in effect, be offgrid for six months a year.

The store will employ 120 staff, an increase of 20 on the present Mitre 10 store. Also pictured is retail and experience manager Emma Levy.
