Outram Garden Club meets at the Outram Community Hall, 7.30pm. Speaker: volunteer firefighters from the Outram Fire Brigade. Competition: trillium, iris, any vegetable.

Otago Alpine Garden Group meets at Mornington Presbyterian Community Centre, 16 Maryhill Tce, at 7.30pm. Speaker is Prof Janice Lord, of the University of Otago botany department, on ‘‘Irregular Flowering in NZ Alpine Plants’’. Plant sales. All welcome.

West Taieri Pony Club Twilight Garden Tour, 6pm9pm, $25 per person. A mystery tour of local gardens and places of interest in the West Taieri area. Entertainment, shopping and fun along the way. Crafts, plants and raffle available (no eftpos). Tickets (cash only) available from Rosy Posy Sewing Room, Wals Plant Land and ITM, Quarry Rd.

Patearoa Garden Tour, 10am5pm, variety of established, rejuvenated and new gardens around Patearoa, Central Otago. Tickets $15 from More than Books and Challenge Garage in Ranfurly, and the Information Centre and Store in Naseby.
