Iran bolsters defence

-

Dubai: Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards have added a warship capable of carrying aircraft, missile launchers and drones to its naval fleet, state media said yesterday, at a time of high tension between Teheran and Washington.

A US official told Reuters on Monday that President Donald Trump, with two months left in office, had asked for options on attacking Iran’s main nuclear site at Natanz, but ultimately decided against taking the dramatic step.

The Islamic Republic reiterated that any attack on it by the United States would face a ‘‘crushing’’ response. — Reuters
