Break for Boult needed
Cricket: Pace spearhead Trent Boult needed a break to catch up with his family and get ready for the test series against West Indies rather than play the three twenty20 matches that start next Friday, former New Zealand quick Shane Bond says.
Bond and Boult are in managed isolation in Christchurch after returning to New Zealand last week from the IPL in the United Arab Emirates. Boult and captain Kane Williamson were both left out of the New Zealand T20 squad to concentrate on the tests that start on December 3.
‘‘To fly out of here and go straight into games without seeing his family would have been a massive mistake,’’ Bond said yesterday. — AAP
