Man dies at falls

Tauranga: A man has died at Omanawa Falls near Tauranga.

Police were called to the falls about 2.30pm yesterday and a body was found shortly after 4pm.

The falls can only be accessed by climbing down a sheer cliff face and have always been closed to the public.

But danger signs have been ignored for years, as seen by the thousands of pictures posted on social media of the scenic waterfall.
