Girl drowns in lake

Rotorua: A young girl drowned at Lake Rotokawau near Rotorua yesterday afternoon.

A police spokeswoman said police were alerted to the incident at about 4.35pm. Her death will be referred to the Coroner.

Meanwhile, a child is in a critical condition after a water incident in the Coromandel last night, St John ambulance reported. — The Rotorua Daily Post
