Firstup win for Otago’s under19 women

OTAGO has made a strong start at the national women's under19 cricket tournament in Lincoln.

It beat Wellington by 90 runs yesterday.

Star batswoman Olivia Gain pounded an unbeaten 106 from 125 deliveries to help her side post a formidable 278 for five. Opener Megan Meltzer made a solid contribution of 52 and Gemma Adams added 45 from 53.

Adams also grabbed two wickets and Molly Loe took three for 26.
