Cars everywhere . . . Before rain forced the postponement of the finals of the New Zealand Streetstock Championship at the Beachlands speedway circuit, two repechage races were held last night to find lastchance qualifiers. In the first, No 21D Jesse Helm, from Dunedin, prevailed to gain a slot in the finals. Navigating the first corner are No 7D Luke Ellis (Dunedin), No 318 Jacob Verdoner (Dunedin), No 23C Grant Dacombe (Christchurch) and No 579D Scott Ashton, of Balclutha. Middle: Tight racing . . . Dunedin’s Kelly Campbell tries to hold off No 99D Brett Bower, also of Dunedin, and eventual race winner Cody Gooch, from Gisborne, in the second repechage. Right: Smashing action . . . Stock cars took to the track after the repechages. Jacob Boulton (left) and Zane Tuhura, both of Dunedin, had a minor disagreement on racing lines, ending up in the wall, out of the race but uninjured.
