Aviators give joyrides

-

Captain Fowler of the New Zealand Aero Transport Company, Timaru, flew over the city shortly after noon on

Saturday, in his 100 horsepower Avro, and took up several passengers. Captain Buckley, of the same company, arrived from Timaru in his 240 horsepower De Havilland.

The machine did the trip in one hour and a half and brought as passengers Mr and Mrs Lance Raymond, of Invercargill, and Mr R.L. Wigley, managing director of the company.

The Avro and the De Havilland flew over Dunedin in the evening — the first time in the history of the city that two machines have been in the air at the one time.
