PPE waste
THE article on page 3 (ODT, 6.1.21) is definitely in the wrong place. This article about the waste of $37 million spent on PPE equipment that was not fit for purpose, should have been on the front page, headlined in large font.
Hospitals at present are all struggling to meet budgets set for them by the Government and yet that same organisation can waste taxpayers’ money and not be called to account.
Under normal circumstances you would expect faulty material to be returned to the supplier and a refund given. Why didn't this happen? Is it too late to do this?
The person who authorised this purchase should be called to account. There is too much waste in the world already without adding to it. Send it back and get a refund.
