Final out for Lasorda
Baseball: Tommy Lasorda, the colourful and cantankerous longtime manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers who led the team to four National League pennants and two World Series championships in the 1970s and 1980s, has died aged 93.
Lasorda, who spent more than 70 years in the Dodgers organisation, suffered a sudden cardiopulmonary arrest at home on Friday and was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
As manager, he compiled a 15991439 regularseason record, leading the Dodgers to World Series victories in 1981 and 1988. — Reuters
