Second ton for Gain

Cricket: Otago toporder batswoman Olivia Gain stroked her second century but could not prevent her side recording a third consecutive defeat at the national under19 tournament in Lincoln yesterday.

Gain plundered 111 from 118 balls as her side posted a competitive 277 for five. But Northern Districts squeaked past the target with one wicket and two balls remaining in a thriller.

Gain scored a century against Wellington earlier in the tournament to help her side register its only win so far.
