Ford pulls out of Brazil

Detroit/Sao Paulo: Ford Motor Co yesterday announced it would close its three plants in Brazil this year.

Production would cease immediately at Ford’s plants in Camacari and Taubate; the Troller plant in Belo Horizonte would continue to operate until the fourth quarter.

The plant closures affected about 5000 employees, mostly in Brazil, Ford spokesman T.R. Reid said. — Reuters
