Seals

-

LESS than 200 years ago, the New Zealand seal population was decimated by sealers to the point that it wasn’t worth killing them any more. Today, the seals are in the early stages of returning to their oncelarge numbers on many coastal beaches.

It’s all biological. Soon the fishing industry will be hardhit by the fastgrowing seal population. Urbanites with their scant knowledge of things biological will complain bitterly about having to compete with the number of seals on the local beaches and their increasing attacks on small dogs and children.

Perhaps this will deliver a future kai moana meat industry?
