Crosswinds flip microlight
A PILOT escaped with minor injuries after his light plane flipped at the Taieri Aerodrome, near Mosgiel, yesterday.
Emergency services were called to the crash about 12.47pm.
An Otago Aero Club spokesman said the experienced pilot was landing his 2005 Pietenpol Aircamper microlight when he encountered crosswinds, causing the plane to flip.
‘‘He’s good as gold though — he got out and walked away.’’
The plane was able to be put back on its wheels and taken to a hangar.
